What does the 2nd class entail, and how much is it?

The 2nd class, Quit Falling – Step 2, is more of a hands-on class that is typically given in smaller groups (10-15).

Following are examples of what the 2nd class entails:

  • Recommended for: Anyone who would like to make major life-style changes that were taught in the first class. Change can be difficult especially if there are any memory problems.
  • Incorporating methods you learned in the first class.
  • Hands-on practice with repetition and verbal cueing
  • We work together to help the new methods become ‘second nature’
  • Assessment to keep track of progress (before and after)
  • Incorporating safer ways to exercise and challenge your balance
  • We touch on targeting muscles that are the most important for balance and fall prevention
  • Opportunity to work 1:1 and ask OT-related questions
  • Can be taken online or in-person

  • Optional:  Train your Caregiver or Family member on how to keep reinforcing new methods.
  • Optional:  Balance and/or cognition assessment
  • Ongoing assessment and “check-in”

Because your body is changing, it is recommended that you come in to have a refresher and your balance and cognition reassessed (optional) on a yearly basis.  This includes the option to sit in on Large Group class, and up to 2 smaller classes.

Individual or Group classes?

The Individual Sessions are geared toward giving quality one-on-one interaction, to assure the most applicable lessons are learned.

The Group Classes are more affordable, and given in a supportive group setting.
