If you’ve taken Quit Falling-1st step as well as the optional 2nd and 3rd step classes and want to check out our other classes, sign up here (Classes Calendar). If you’d like to hear more first, read below.

Here is a list of our Other Therapy-related classes:

  • On-going exercise Group classes:  A weekly/biweekly exercise class that targets muscles needed to prevent falls.  We also offer consultation to your current therapists/exercise partners on how to incorporate most beneficial exercises along with motivational ideas to help your residents stick to a home exercise program.  This can be taken in-person or online.

We have a number of individual or small group sessions (Steps 1-3) that may be covered under insurance – *Please send out contact form and email us to inquire.  The following are the current individual sessions offered:

  • Individual classes (1:1) for (Quit Falling 2nd-3rd steps).  These classes may be covered under insurance.  *Call or email to confirm
  • Individual Cognition Session (1:1):  We can assess for cognition changes and screen for dementia.  Occupational Therapists do extensive assessment for cognition and are the ones who make recommendations for placement (i.e., 24hr supervision, may live alone but needs to have someone check in etc.)  We can also determine if someone is safe to drive and make anonymous recommendations to DMV.  As an added option, we also can assess an individual’s ability to manage medication.
  • Ongoing exercise class (1:1):  Using techniques taught in [Quit Falling – Step 2].
  • Individual Caregiver or family training (1:1):  This is usually done in the individual’s home.  We meet with both your resident and their family member/caregiver to teach them how they can keep reinforcing the new methods taught in the first session.
  • Home Visit and Consultation (1:1):  We visit each individual in their home and assess their ability to perform daily activities.  We make recommendations on how they can make environmental as well as lifestyle modifications to increase safety and independence.

Individual or Group classes?

The Individual Sessions are geared toward giving quality one-on-one interaction, to assure the most applicable lessons are learned.

The Group Classes are more affordable, and given in a supportive group setting.
